Fever

Selections from Jason Lee Parry’s latest fashion series entitled “Fever”

Artist’s Bio:

I regard myself as a young artist that has a specific personal style and something different to offer to a world of drones. Due to the fact that I am self taught every aspect of my day to day life affects what comes out of my mind, so I try to surround myself with raw, interesting people who live life in a unique way. The people who have this vision were born to create.

I personally don’t limit myself to either black and white or color because I believe in using all of my resources when and where they speak to me. My photography has from time to time been regarded as racy or sexual, but sexuality in its essence is never my subject. I attempt to solicit an authentic response of any kind from my audience, and for some that will be sex while for others the same image can produce fear or sadness.

Boulevardier

glitterati @ 2:12 pm

DangeRuss and Danimal on da loose AGAIN!  Who let us out of our cage?

I mean, all we do is get in trouble.  We throw in a little networking, support our friends at events, and we drink a whole lot! But then again, who the hell doesn’t?  And if you say, “Not me!”, you lying!  That said, here are some examples of the trouble we cause, the scenes we cause, and the people we see while out and about:

Wednesday July 30, 2008
Gen Art Shop NYC Event.  What a zoo!  Great prices on great goods, a birth control lounge, hair touch ups, etc.  It was a sight to behold, all these people, all these goods, and all the people again!  WOW!  We get clostro!

We couldn’t take it!  We needed a really stiff…cocktail!  We headed over to G Lounge to see hot Patrick, the beautiful bartender, and the rest of the crew there.  Jerry Beersdorf and Stephen Keefe from MAC Cosmetics were on hand for cigarettes and general giggles and feel good times!   We left there, did a quick disco change (it was HUMID AS HELL out, and we sweat straight through our couture ensemble!), and headed to…ooooooh Barracuda! James Roy from Garren Salon, and Steven Bonamasso, Bergdorf Goodman’s mens window stylist, met up with us there.  Yum!

Steven and Danny:

Russ and James:

After SEVERAL cocktails, and a couple hours later, (It was 2 for 1, what the hell!), we stumbled to Employees Only in the West Village.  One of our fave spots, they have an exquisite cocktail list, and the staff is so amazing!  It was PACKED, we were hammered, the music was great, and we plopped our tipsy asses down for an Amalia (vodka, elderflower liqueur, blackberry puree, and fresh mint).  Rachel happened to be working that night!!  Lucky us!  We absolutely adore her!

Barely able to stand up, we had to call this night a wrap!

Betsey Johnson’s 30th Anniversary party.  Betsey Johnson is an legend in the NYC fashion scene.  Her antics on the runway are known worldwide, and the gal can turn a mean cartwheel!  She is animated, youthful, and girly rock and roll!

Betsey Johnson and Chantal Bacon

The gals of Betsey Johnson were rocking such cute frocks!

Seen:
artist/interior designer Jordan Carlyle, stylist Rene Garza, model Christopher Fawcett (Glitterati issue 3 Carnivale story), and stylist Marc Sifuentes

fabulous photographers Elias and Saria

Russ and Patrick McDonald

and ofcourse Patrick McMullan’s crew.  Seen below is David, who is on the other side of the camera this time!  Raow!

Thanks for the watch and fragrance, Betsey!  My niece is in love with it!   We left there, popped by our regular Thursday night haunt to see DJ Lina at Gorgeous/G Lounge.  There we drank our faces off and decided it was time for a disco change.  We headed to Norwood Club for a nightcap and then headed home. No photos from Norwood.  Thank god!

Freshpair.com founded and hosts National Underwear Day, a huge event to celebrate underwear!  And you know we love some hot guys in their drawers!  Lydia Hearst was the celeb host, and she was a vision.  James, Danny, Muzzy and I went to check it out, and the debauchery ensued!  Pictured below with the handsome president of Freshpair.com, Michael Kleinmann, Lydia Hearst, and a very hot and tattooed Tyson Beckford.

Also on hand was designer Marc Bouwer, and Heatherette designer Richie Rich.

We left the overcrowded event and headed to a local haunt where a friend works, Ritz, in Hells Kitchen.  Couple cocktails later, we headed to Bungalow 8 for the afterparty for National Underwear Day.  It was a zoo, until the queens all headed to Beige.  A veritable who’s who (and who wants to be who) was there.  Amy Sacco (who looks AMAZING, btw!), Adam Patrizia-Departures, Mark Silver-Factory PR, Nicole Fiscella-Gossip Girls, The Countess LuAnn-Real Housewives of NYC, Suede-Project Runway, Jason Scarlotti-2(x)ist, just to name a few.  It was a festive, albeit hardcore drunken, evening!

August 6, 2008
We were working on a shoot for Issue 4, the Boulevardier. Off we went, with 5 garment bags of clothes (courtesy of Rodney E. Hall) , and numerous shopping bags, which btw, in the heat, ain’t that fun! We headed to MAO PR to dress, hair, make up, etc.  So fun!  David Tibolla was beating our faces, Bradley Irion was tearing up the weaves, and we were ready to go for our close up with Arnaldo, our fab photog!

Below is a preview!

August 7, 2008

The week was nearly done, and we had one last event to attend.  We went to HK Lounge in Hells Kitchen for BASKIT Underwear’s show and party.  It was a strange week full of super hot guys, making us all look fat, and totally out of nowhere, but alas, it was fun!  The place was packed, courtesy of Len Evans at Project Publicity.  There was a runway show, super hot beats, and more than enough cocktails to keep you entertained.  And if this picture below doesn’t make you want close out the week, and your bedroom door, I dunno what will!  The one in orange guarded our cocktails while we smoked, the one in blue was of the quiet variety!

And so we conclude a round of events and shows, courtesy of DangeRuss and Danimal.

VINTAGE TEQUILA FOR CONNOISSEURS MADE BY AFICIONADOS

glitterati @ 2:55 pm

Between passed chimichangas and amazing quesadillas, everyone that came out to the OCHO PRIVATE TASTING left feeling full and happy. Thomas Estes, Ambassador of Tequila to Europe, led the crowd in an informative tequila tasting where connoisseurs and amateurs alike sipped the magic of Ocho. The gliterrati fave? The Silver Reposado.

The private tasting marked Ocho’s American debut. Private tastings were held in Orange County, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. It was on July 2nd, 2008, that Altamar Brands, LLC announced its partnership with Tequila Ocho, the first ultra premium single estate tequila to be introduced into the United States Market in vintages. Ocho will be unique in its delivery of complexity of character through its access to multiple estates at different altitudes in different climates.

While Ocho’s product concept is highly innovative; the process by which the tequila is made remains highly traditional. All agaves are slowed cooked in stone ovens and open-air fermentation in wood casks is an essential process. The artisnal approach is intensely handcrafted at every step of production including the packaging where each bottle is numbered by hand and stamped with the estate name of each vintage. The brand takes its name from the Spanish word for “eight” because through its double distillation process, there were eight possible recipes and the eighth formula was ultimately selected.

Ocho is available in Plata, Reposado, and Anejo and will be sold at $60, $70, and $80 respectively per 750mL bottle.

I didn’t know an outfit could be hideous as well as carnivorous. Beware people in the front row, you will get bitten.
