Mara Wilson Rains On The Parade

Mara Wilson

For those people who plan to make a sequel to the now 20-year-old movie “Mrs Doubtfire,” Mara Wilson says “Thanks, but no thanks.” Wilson’s role in the original film was Robin Williams and Sally Field‘s young daughter. Once is enough, she says.

Her objection is that sequels generally are mediocre, with very few exceptions. On top of that, she feels the original story ended just where it should have ended, making the possibility of re-opening that package awkward. She explained her reasons for quitting movie acting in this article. Mara Wilson is now 26, so her perspective is quite different from where it was when she played the “Natalie Hillard” role.
